Vanessa Torrivilla and Joe Ariel - Big Omaha 2017 Speakers

We’ve always loved food here at Big Omaha, so we’re excited to introduce two huge foodies and 2017 speakers. Meet Vanessa Torrivilla and Joe Ariel, founders of the online artisan food ecommerce company Goldbely, Y-Combinator graduates and food explorers.

As the self-proclaimed “Marco Polo of Food”, Joe is on a mission to explore the world for the best small artisan food, and bring it to the world. Joe earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Vanderbilt University, before becoming the founder and CEO of Eats Media, which was acquired by in 2009, where he took the role of CEO. Currently Joe is the co-founder and CEO of Goldbely and is continuing sharing his passion for great food.

Vanessa is another co-founder of the Goldbely food-loving founding team. Vanessa graduated with a computer science degree from the University of South Florida, but quickly fell in love with design and do work with creative ad agencies, fashion brands, art galleries, fashion retail stores, and restaurants. Vanessa soon found the intersection of her love of design and her computer science past, and started doing UI/UX work in New York before co-founding Goldbely. Balancing her life as a fried chicken connoisseur and work, she is currently the creative director at Goldbely.

Headquartered in San Francisco, Goldbely’s mission is to find the best local artisanal culinary companies and give them a national audience. Goldbely has quickly become the premier ecommerce site for regional food, and has connected curious eaters with America’s best gourmet food purveyors for four years.
