Matt Zeiler - Big Omaha 2017 Speaker
Apr. 17, 2017 / By: Hunter Fangmeyer
From Star Trek and Star Wars to the Terminator, the world has been dreaming of what may lay in the future and how artificial intelligence will help our lives – or rule it. Recently AI Learning and other applications of AI have been thrown into the spotlight, and that’s why we are ecstatic to learn more about artificial intelligence from our 2017 Big Omaha Speaker Matt Zeiler, co-founder of Clarifai.
Matt is a renowned artificial intelligence expert and got his Ph.D. in Machine Learning from NYU. His groundbreaking research in computer vision, alongside renowned machine learning pioneers Geoff Hinton and Yann LeCun, has propelled the image recognition industry from theory to real-world practice.
Matt is now the founder and CEO of Clarifai, an artificial intelligence company focused on machine recognition of images and video for specific qualities. Clarifai is a market leader and is setting the pace for machine learning and media recognition. For instance, the company’s software would be able to recognize an astronaut Maude (Big Omaha’s cow mascot) floating in space from a video of the Milky Way Galaxy while she buys Big Omaha VIP tickets. Pretty stellar, man. More reasonable and applicable uses include recognizing if a hotel room photo has a beach view or not, or enabling searches over large collections of user-uploaded wedding photos. But we prefer our example for branding reasons (join Maude in buying tickets here, winky face).
To learn more about the power of AI, machine learning, and media recognition from Matt, join us at Big Omaha at the Kaneko, May 17th-19th. We look forward to seeing you there!
